My great-grand mother Inger Nilsdt. Overgaarden checked- out of the Bruflat parish (Etnedal) on March 25, 1882 bound for America on the "Rollo". Was this a ship going to England and then on to America? I am putting together a family history video and would like to include photos of the ship or ships.

The Rollo was a Wilson Line ship, and conveyed emigrants from Norwegiaon ports to Hull in England. From England the emigrants would board other ships for the Atlantic crossing. I can't find your great-grand mother at the Digitalarkivet, could you give more details? (age, companions and so on)

Borge, Here is the information which I have on Inger Nilsdatter Ovrigarden from Harald Hvaatum "Etnedal: Vol. B, pg. 406 Ovrigarden (120.39)Ovrigarden var humannsplass is siste halvdelen av 1800 talet. I know that Inger was 16 years old when the family left Etnedal and I believe that her Aunt and Uncle Marit and Gulbrand Saglien traveled in the party. Sometimes the Ovrigard[en family appears under "Syverud" or Sjurudplassen. This infromation came from geneologist Betty Rockswold of the "Valdres Samband".Mange Takk!

That new information was a great help, actually it seam you have the wrong year! In the Digitalarkivet I find the family in 1881 emigrants from Kristiania. (enter the surname "Øvergaarden" cutt and paste) They departed from Kristiania June 3rd, 1881 on the Wilson Line ship S/S Angelo for Hull. They were bound for Eau Claire. They had signe contracts with agent David Conolly, who at the time was representing the Inman Line. (Inman Line 1881 authorization and fleet)

When checking Arrivals reported in Norwegian newspapers,
June 1881
. I find a very likely ship for them to sail to be the S/S City of Berlin from Liverpool 1881-06-14, arrival to New York 1881-06-25. The Passenger list is usually dated 1 - 2 days after arrival, and you should check that list.
