What I thought was right, wasn't. She was born about 1833 (in the 1900 census for Minnesota, shows her birthdate as Dec 1833). She emigrated, supposedly, in the spring of 1859 with her cousin, Lars Blix, and her husband to be, Knud Arnesen. Supposedly, she had a grandfather, Nils Jonsen or Jacobsen Bye who was a Sheriff in Meløy, and was among the delegates to the Norwegian Constitutional Convention of 1814, although he did not make it in time for the signing. I have searched the Meløy records and cannot find her, because I am not sure that is where she was actually born. She died in Sparta, Chippewa, Minnesota on 6 Jul 1913.

I thought she was born originally in Vik, but that is not her if her grandfather was Nils Jonsen. She was my 3rd great grandmother and I would like to find her!

Please help me. I would not mind any and all information on her and her family!! Thank you!

Tami

Anne Dorthea was born April 5 1833 in Lurøy (Lurøe), see #8
Her parents were John Nilsen and Marie Jensdatter.
She was confirmed in Meløy June 30 1850, see #20
Her father and his parents are most likely here
Anne Dortheas parents got married in 1826, see #2
Marie (Maria) and her parents are most likely here

Thank you! I guess that is why I could not find her in Meløy! I got a sister now, too, because of your information...off the LDS site. Now I just need to find all the others! Thanks again.
