Would appreciate any assistance with locating a family that emigrated together in 1894, Norway to North Dakota. I suspect that the reason that I'm stuck is that they may have taken the farm name "Heggen" when they emigrated ... the only "Heggen" I find anywhere in the Norway records is a farm name.

Lorenz Heggen, b. abt 1853 father
Marie b. abt 1855 (Marriage possibly abt 1878)
Kristian, son, b. abt 1879
Kristoffer L., son, b. Nov 11, 1883.
Anna M., b. abt 1887
Laura E., b. abt 1890
Ole, b. about 1892

Not much to go on, I know! The only two slight possibilities I found are in the 1865 Census:
Lorenz Lars. 10 years old
Lorenz Kaspersen, 11 years old
But haven't been able to tie them to a Heggen farm.

Any shove in the right direction would be very much appreciated!

Finally found the ship's record for these folks!! April 4, 1894
Left from Trondheim, residence was Lexvigstranden, Amerikan Line, ship Juno. (2 new clues ... "Lornts" vs. "Lorenz" and
Lexvigstranden!) Destination Calledonia, MN
Lornts Heggen
Marie Heggen
Anna -16
Christina - 14
Sofie - 11
Christoffer - 8 (something wrong with ages here, should be 11)
Anne - 4 1/2
Laura - 3
Ole - 1

Kristian A. J. Heggen may have preceded them to America it appears ...

Sorry Les, Kristian was still married to Oline in the 1900 census. (I think you have taken part of the K in Kaarmand as a number 2)

Thanks for the correction Einar. Guess what, I found the ship Zakarias Heggon emigrated on. The S/S Ohio, sailing from Liverpool 20 June 1883, arrived Philadelphia 2 July 1883.
Here is all I can copy: Philadelphia Passenger Lists, 1800-1945
Name: Zach H Heggon
Arrival Date: 2 Jul 1883
Age: 56 Years
Estimated Birth Year: abt 1827
Port of Departure: Liverpool, England
Ship Name: Ohio
Port of Arrival: Philadelphia, Pennsylvania
Birthplace: Norway
Microfilm Roll Number: T840_3

On the next page is Johan Heggon, age 2.
Name: Jno Anto Heggon
Arrival Date: 2 Jul 1883
Age: 2 Years
Estimated Birth Year: abt 1881

They obviously had trouble spelling his first name.

There is also a Johan A. Heggon age 18 listed on the sheet before Zakarius.
