MY Grandmother Inga (Nilsen,Nillsen) was born on October 1, 1938 in Snubba Norway. I am looking for my grandparents there.I think their names were Selma and Nicolki and I believe I remember my grandmother telling me that their farm was named Livang. my grandmother came to America around 1955

Snubba is a village at Borgen in Evenes

Could the farm be Liland instead of Livang?

Possibly?

Selma Andrea Nikoline Nilsen (26 May 1901 - 27 Jan 1954), Lenvik cemetery, Evenes, Nordland, Norway.
Buried next to her is Nils Olai Nilsen Lenvik (15 Apr 1899 - 15 Jun 1954):

Chr record for Nils Olai.
Nordland county, Evenes in Ofoten, Parish register (official) nr. 863A11 (1897-1906), Birth and baptism records 1899, page 37.

Census-1910 for Nils Olai.
Parents are Harald Andreas Nilsen & Johanna Johansdatter.

Hmmm... Nils Olai married a woman named Jenny in 1930...
Nordland county, Evenes in Ofoten, Parish register (official) nr. 863A14 (1906-1937), Marriage records 1930, page 78.

Hi.
Liland was just a shot in the dark.
I think the name was americanized.
Lenvikmark or Lenvik was the farm, and you are absolutely right, Lenvikmark was called Snubba, local it means "a little shorter"

It´s a very rare name and in Norway the name Snubba only exist on Lenvikmark.

From 1882 to ca 1949 in one of the houses on Lenvikmark (Snubba) was the school for this area.
Enter this map.
Spell;
"Lenvikmark gamle skole"
Click on SĜK and watch the farm.
