There are two freely available transcriptions of the passenger list of Therese / Theresa of the 1870 passage. One is at NorwayHeritage:

Then there is this one on the Therese in 1870 In the Bergen to Quebec ships lists at the Digitalarivet. Here is Britha's listing:

She is one of ten people from Vik on the ship. I assume these lists are created from the landings list in Quebec.

Bolded are the names not in the parish register of 1870 utflyttedes in Vik. (The two 20 year Brithes one in 1870 and the other in 1873 are different people, 1873 Brithe had farm name listed something starting with a G and the Brithe leaving in 1870 is plainly listed as Vigøren. I initially thought there was some kind of mixup in the records I think rather than a scramble in the records confusing two different events and people, I think they are just two different people, no scramble.)

Bygdebøker are a good place to find new information and confirm known information. It helps to live near one of the five or so Uiversities that have large collections. Even for those that live near one of the five, not all of them have all of the books on hand. A solution for me has been to use the services of the University of North Dakota. They have one of the best collections in the country and they are very amenable to doing searches, scanning pages and emailing them to you. They do charge a fee but it is usually reasonable and many times less than the cost for me to park at the University of Minnesota and look at the books themselves. I have been encouraged by the Assistant Archivist to give his name and email address to those that may be able to use his services.
So Nancy if you wish to have UND search for information on some of the families that you have encountered in your search for Betsy please feel free to contact.

Looking at the passenger list for the Therese from Vik that Jackie posted above, it is likely that Cecelia Nilsdatter is the mother of both Lasse Anderson Brudevold and also Anfind. baptism 1 okt 1842 (1 Oct 1842). This family ended up in Iowa as Anfind was married in 1877 in Fayette County Iowa. Then moved to and died in 1906 in Chippewa County Minnesota.

The girl next to Britha Johannesdatter Vigøren on the ship manifest from Norway Heritage for the Theresa was Betsie !! Øhreim also age 20 but from Bergen not Vik.
This is likely her baptism record in Ancestry.com

The whole family except for Betty Olufine left for America in 1866 and at least a good part of the family can be found in Chicago. Not all of the data is spot on but I would venture to say that Betty ended up in Chicago as well and that this is her marriage record.

Ridgeway and Northwood are about 70 miles apart, Ridgeway to the east of Northwood.
Who were Gertrude's faddernes?

If you are referring to ELCA records yes a few, even tho the title would lead you to believe that the records start in 1875. Here is one. Witnesses are Markus Hus?, Ole Eriksen, Kari Markusdatter, Eline Olsdatter.

Here is son Peter. With witnesses named Rustad. Haven't we come across Rustad in this thread earlier. Thered is so big it makes it a little hard to remember and find things.
Mothers last name seems wrong?
Witnesses are S? Rustad, Markhus Syverstsen, Thina Martinsd., or perhaps Markusdtr. ? , A.H. Rustad.

I had a busy few days and was just coming on here to add a notation that my email request has been acknowledged by The Regional State Archives in Bergen. It says they will respond as soon as possible within 3 weeks.
