Would like to know 1. when Thorer Larson Mo and wife Kari Hansdatter Mo immigrated to either Canada or the United States. I believe it would have been after their son, Hans Thorer Moe and his family left in 1866, They sailed on the Olaf from Oslo to Quebec in 1866. They were from Gjerdrum.
and 2. if any of our Moe family remained in Norway. Don't know if there were other children for Thorer and Kari. We are planning a trip to Norway and would love to find family members if possible.

Thank you so very much. Connie Moe
P.S. Also looking for our family related to Lena(Lina) Maria Kristisen (or Christianson) born Aug 28, 1865 to Kris Kristisen ad Ingeborg Kristisen (perhaps a sister named Caroline). We think she was from Eidsvold, Norway. Her brother worked on a steamer as a porter (Fra Badet??). Family story is told that she might have been pregnant and was sent to Canada or America by her family. Maybe with her sister or her sister was already here. She married Ole Christian Moe, my husband's great grandfather.

Do you know ca when Lena Marie em.?
Did she em with her parents?

The combination Lina Marie is not the most common.

A possible candidate;
The names on the parents do not correspond.
1866 on top of the page is wrong, 1865 is correct.

Lina Marie born on farm Oppegaardseier August 29. 1865 in Feiring in Hurdal municipality.
Her parents; Christen Hansen and Marie born Borgersdatter #34

If she em. without her parents she could have traveled as;
Lina Marie Christensen (Christensdatter)

Hurdal was earlier a part of Eidsvoll.

Dear Kare,
I don't have much information. I don't think she left Norway with her parents. The family Bible has her as Lina Marie with parents of Kris Kristisen and Ingeborg Kristisen (could be the English version of Christiansen - I am not sure). From one Kansas census it looks like she came to Kansas from Wisconsin. Her first child Mary Cornelia was born in 1895. She married Ole Christian Moe in Kansas and had a son Hans Christian Moe in 1898. The family story is that Mary was not Ole's daughter and that she was pregnant and sent by her father from Norway. So, i am thinking she left Norway in early 1895. I believe she had a sister, Caroline who she either met up with in America or they might have left together. She had a brother, too. Story was he was a porter on a ship (steamer vessel). Do you know if the mother and father on #34 had other children? Or is there a later record of that Lina Marie immigrating from Norway in about 1895? That might help.
Thank you so very much. You are wonderful to help me.

Lena Moe in the various census transcriptions gives two dates of departure from Norway:

1900 --1892
1910 --1892
1920 --Not recorded on transcript
1930--1898

Candidate Lina Marie leaves Hurdal for America in 1892. Right hand page, #2 in 1892:

The parents mentioned above;
Anders Christensen and Helene Hansdatter married in Feiring, Hurdal Oct. 15. 1866.

Wrong parents.

Very good, so we have matched every piece of information Connie started with...

Here is another brother of Lina named Harald #16:
Source information: Akershus county, Feiring in Hurdal, Parish register (official) nr. II 3 (1878-1920), Birth and baptism records 1879, page 6.
Permanent pagelink: http://www.arkivverket.no/URN:kb_read?idx_kildeid=52556&idx_id=52556&uid=ny&idx_side=-12

Harald in 1900 census in Norway:
http://digitalarkivet.uib.no/cgi-win/WebCens.exe?slag=visbase&sidenr=6&filnamn=f00240&gardpostnr=4&personpostnr=28&merk=28#ovre

Harald, wife and son going to America in 1904:
http://digitalarkivet.uib.no/cgi-win/webcens.exe?slag=visbase&sidenr=18&filnamn=EMIOSLO&gardpostnr=157329&merk=157329#ovre

And this is probably him in findagrave in the same cemetery as Lena Moe:
