Members of my family emigrated to the USA from the Botsender region on Lake Mjosja. They were from the farms of Hvalstad or Kvalstad, Hoel, Berg and Aanarud. They took the names of Hvalstad later Walstad, Hall and Berg.My great grandfather was Lars Thoresen (he took the name Lars Hvalstad) and my great great grandfather was Thore Andersen. They both emigrated to the USA, I am curious if any of our line of kin still exist in Norway.

You might fill in a few more details on Lars such as birthdate, emigration date, etc to make certain that we look for the correct persons.

Thanks for all of the responses. I do have the book "One Man's Descendants" and it pretty well spells out the American side of the family. I am somewhat unclear as to any relation that stayed in Norway. For example Thore Andersson, my great, great grandfather and his wife must have had some relatives that remained in Norway. I am also curious as to the current owners of Hvalstad or Kvalstad, does anyone on this site know who they are?
