My father emigrated to the U.S. in February 1925 on board the S/S United States. He left Copenhagen on February 13 and arrived in Oslo on February 14. Three photographs my father took en route show snow covered mountains near the coast. A friend in Oslo says the photos are not like the terrain around Oslo, and I'm wondering if the ship might have stopped in Bergen. Was Bergen a normal port of call on the west bound route?

In 1925, the S/S United States went directly from Oslo to New York. It never went through Bergen, but did during the early years (1903-1905) have a stop in Kristiansand.
Could it be Nova Scotia or Newfoundland?

Could you share the picture?
