Hi all. I am trying to trace my great grandfathers Norwegian roots. His name is Peter Moe. Born March 13, 1870. I do not know the names of his parents. I think he is from osterdalen. He emigrated to the US in approx 1896. He was married to Eline Hulbbekmoe (Hulbekonoe). Not sure of the spelling. Any information you can help me find is much appreciated.

| When he left Norway he went to the US in Battle, Minnesota. In 1902 he moved to Saum, Minnesota. In 1917 he came to Canada. First to Webb, Sk then to Cabri , Sk. His first wife died and he married my great grandmother Anne MarieHolen on Jan4,1908. |

Yes this is his info. I’m hoping to find info about his parents and siblings in Norway. We know nothing about that part of his life.

Yes, you know all this but we don't. Most of the time the forum looks over everything for clues that you may have missed.
This may be his homestead in US in Beltrami county. If it is, there should be a record of his declaration of intention to become a citizen which might tell which port he came in to US and a month and year.

This is likely the family of Peder Ingebretsen in the 1865 Census living on the farm Katmoen.
1865
Here is the original baptism record for Peder Ingebritsen born March 13, 1870 on the farm named Katmoen.

What website do I go to check out the declaration to become a us citizen? Is there a link?
For the digital archive: I found this site but it was all in Norwegian. How did you change it to English?
Sorry for all the questions. I’m new at this game.
I found a picture of a headstone in some papers. Is there anyway to attach it here?
One of the names is Anders Moe born sept 14,1823 died aug 22, 1893. I’m not sure who this is and if he fits in with Peter somehow.

This looks like a record for the Anders Moe you asked about. Month is off for the death date.

This is probably the family on Moe in the 1900 Norwegian Census. Anders Moe is already deceased but there is a daughter Ingeborg Andersdatter Moe that is likely his daughter.

In the upper right corner there is usually a button labelled English or with a drop down menu that has English as one of the options. Click on it
