Does anyone know who her mother and father were? I have Johannes Halvorson Halsteinsgard and Guro Guttormsdatter Larsgard Halsteinsgard but am not for sure on this.

Johannes Halvorsen Halsteinsgard ca 1665- d 1720 and Guro Guttormsdatter Larsgård, they married ca 1703. Johannes was wealthy, he was also a Merchant.
Children;
- Kari 1704 married Sveil Olsen Brattåker-Verpe
- Guri 1706, married Nils Person Kleppo
- Rønnaug 1708, married Halvor Hermundson, Søre Berg
- Ragnhild 1710, married Sigurd Knutson, Nordre Mørk
- Guttorm 1714, lived on Nordre Sletto with his mother after she was widowed, he married Guri Torsteinsdatter from Frettheim in Aurland, Sogn County, she was born 1721
- Your Gunhild b 1717, married Jon Rognvaldsen Onstad in Aurland. Owned Onstad

Johannes Halvorsen Halsteinsgard was killed by a drunk "Dragon" soldier and horseman in the Cavalry

Probate after Johannes was on 1795 Riks Daler

The source for Guro Guttormsdatter Larsgard is Folk og Fortid I Hol, Volume IV page 406-407. She is one of 6 children of her parents Guttorm Sanderson Røo and Rønnaug Larsdatter nordre Larsgard.

Thank you for the book number and page number. I plan to visit Chester Fritz Library in Grand Forks, ND soon - they also have my mom's Hallingen books there. A lot of little things to check out.

In addition, there are several regional places that have the Hol bygdeboker and some of the Aal bygdeboker: Concordia College (Moorhead, Minnesota) and the M Kay Buckingham Family History Collection of the Hallinglag of America housed at the Red River Valley Genealogical Society library in West Fargo.

Jon Ragnvaldsen Ohnstad and Gunhild Johannsedatter Halsteinsgard settled down on Ohnstad in Aurland. Their grandson Jon Rognvaldsen Sept. 22. 1785- Dec. 23. 1845 was farmer in Undredal sub parish in Aurland, sheriff in Aurland and deputy to the Parliament and member from Nov. 28. 1815.
