Am now focusing on Hans Kristensen Myhre and his wife Berthe Eriksdatter and family and what may be his second wife Martha 2 Olsdatter nee Glimstad. Now this is a mystery

The 1801 Census shows that Berthe Ericsdatter is his second wife.

Lots of dates on this entry.

Across the top on the right hand pages something "efter Torbergsdals 28 Sept 1844." Which might ben when the class was formed?

Actually, I think it says they were confirmed on 30 March 1845 in the column left of the names. Helge was vaccinated on, it looks like by Ømdal on 3 March 1845.

And Helge's mother is named as Berthe Marie not Sara. A not essential fact to the conduct of the confirmation recorded incorrectly.

This works?

Would like a translation - refers to Olen Hansen Myhre and Sara Marie Stoltenberg and their son Helge August Olsen Myhre. Is it an application for a visa or cope of something for travel?

The URL you posted does work to allow me to see the document.

I then copied the line in the box from the stuff down the left side of the page, the one labelled "IMG Code for Forums and Message Board"

Then paste it in the Quick Reply/Post Changes box at the bottom of the Norway Heritage page and hit the button.

That way you get the full document posted on the Norway Heritage page.

Cool, it's an attest that Helge August son of hattemager Ole Hansen Myrhe and his wife Sara Marie Stoltenberg was baptized on 12 May 1833 and was born on 4 October 1831. Typically these documents were issued for a move from one parish to another or to go to America.

So now you know less approximately the dates of the family's move from Drammen. They were last there on 31 December 1844. And with his vaccination on 3 March 1845, you have a bracket between which dates the move was made.

Okay so now you know when Helge August left Stavanger. The attest is dated 23 Aug 1851, so most likely shortly thereafter.

Phil, I know you were once looking for the location of the Myhre farm. I am beginning to think that the farm is actually called Brumyr also spelled Bromyr. And your ancestors modified the farm name slightly to get to Myhre. Here is the location of the Brumyr farm and a little information on it.

Map

Description from Olaf Rygh Norwegian Farm Names.

140. Brumyr. Udt. brú`mýr. #8213; Bromyr og Bromyr øvre
1723.

It's an attest that contains the information about Helge's birth, baptism basically functioning as his ID papers. Sometimes they contain the information about a person's vaccination and date of confirmation, too, though Helge's doesn't seem to. Usually they are asked for and issued when you leave one parish for another or you leave the country. In Norway, you'd give the paper to your new pastor for records to be kept on you there.
