My Grandfather Lars Paulsen (Poulsen) (DOB Oct.11,1859) Res. Furnęs left Norway on May 30,1884
on the ship Angelo which was I presume was a feeder ship to Hull England. His destination was listed as Pelican Rapids and he did reside there for awhile. I haven't had any luck tracking him from England to the United States |

A tough find indeed. If you look at the passenger list from the old data base you can see the people who were traveling out of Oslo at the same time on the Angelo. Three families are on the same page as your Lars Paulsen.

Johannes Pedersen family
Ingrid Grenet family
All three of these families arrived on the Sarmatian in Quebec, Quebec, Canada on 11 Jun 1884. So far I have not found your Lars Paulsen on this ship. Is he buried somewhere in the passenger list that has some parts that are hard to read.

| As far as I know he was traveling by himself to join his sister and brother in Minnesota who had arrived in 1882. I have tried searching in the confirmed connection ships but have had no luck. maybe his name is hard to read. |

Lars Poulsen changed his last name to Myhre, moved from Minn. to Canada in 1907 I have all his history except for the trip from England to North America |

Maybe he used Myhre on the trip. The only passenger i can find on the ship passenger list for the Sarmatian on June 11, 1884 is a Lars P Mhyre. He is on the same page as all of the other passenger families I listed above. He is number 1860.
Now I need to find out what the transcriber called him.
So this is likely him. I read the original passenger record as Lars P Myhre. My best guess as it is not easy to read. He is the only passenger traveling to Pelican Rapids.

That could be him as Lars P Myhre is his name after 1886. He might have used that name before as he lived on the Myhr farm. Thank you very interesting |

Thank you Lynda I am pretty sure you have found him, I assumed he wouldn't have used the name Myhre untill later but it looks like I assumed wrong. |

A look at the whole line. You can see that he is going to Pelican Rapids. He is the only passenger I could find going there.

Hi Lynda I would say that is him all right as Pelican Rapids was his destination.
Interesting Leaves Norway as Lars Poulsen then leaves England as Lars P Myhre
