Well this is making me a little confused.

We have this record for a Olena W Tollaksen marring a Lewis Evanson in 1876.

Lewis Evanson died in 1877 and Olena Evanson marries a Thomas Duncan in 1886.

Number one could be either Gurine (Lena) born to Sussanne Marie in Norway or Olena Wilhelmenia born to Bertha in Norway.

Number two seems a little old to be either Gurine (Lena) born to Sussanne Marie in Norway or Olena Wilhelmenia born to Bertha in Norway.

Number three is the same as number two and again a little old.\

Number four could be Gurine (Lena) born to Sussanne Marie

Here is Lena as a widow in 1879.

Name: Lena Evanson
Gender: Female
Residence Year: 1878
Street address: 50 W Ohio
Residence Place: Chicago, Illinois, USA
Spouse: Lewis Evanson
Publication Title: Chicago, Illinois, City Directory, 1878

Tollak Tollaksen and wife Berthe Osmundsdatter along with two children Tollef Andreas and Olena Wilhelmenia left Stavanger for America in 1853.

#18

I do not see any sign of a sister of Berthe traveling with the party.

Olena Tollaksdatter’s mother Berthe Aasmundsdatter remarried after Tollak’s death ( or divorce). Second husband Simon Erlandsen died and Bertha took simonson as her surname to match the surname Simonson of her america born children. no mystery.

The mystery to me is where is Olena Wilhelmina in the 1860, and 1870 Census? Not with her mother.

In 1860 Berthe is with Simon and John, Lena, Theodore and Barton (Solomon?)

In 1870 Berthe is with Simon and John, Lena, Theodore and Severin

in 1880 Berthe is with Theodore, Barton and Lena

Yes with her mother.
Lena=Olena Wilhelmina Tollaksdatter
Bertha Simonson=Berthe Gurine Osmundsdatter= Berthe wife of Tollak Tollaksen.
