Infomation from Digitalarkivet indicates that ancestors I am investigating left Bergen 17. April 1880 with Cunard Line. I have no more information about vessel or destination (Hull, Liverpool, or any others). I have no information on which destination in USA/Canada.
Anybody who knows more about departures from Bergen at that time?
Names: Father and mother Kristen Jetmundsen and Katrine (Fitje) Jetmundsen.
Sons: Jetmund Kristensen (+ wife two kids), Anders (+ wife and two kids), Kristen (single) and daughter Jøde.

It may help to post the link, so here's Christen Jetmundsen Fitje traveling in 1880.
This adds information, such as birth years, that might help locate them on a passenger manifest.
link

If the corresponding passenger manifests are hard to find, one could look to the naturalization (citizenship) papers for the travellers. A lot of research on the family here:

It's helpful to the forum to know a bit more about Christenn Fitje, such as his location in US, how long he lived, etc as well as details about the children who were born in Norway and came to America.

There are a couple of sources in US which might possibly tell a detail about their voyage, if search in the online passenger lists fails to find a record.

Did a family member ever file to become a US citizen? The first papers, the declaration of intention to become a citizen, will contain, depending on the era when it was filed, a month and year of landing and which US port the person entered. This might narrow which record set needs to be examined which might actually contain the information you want about a vessel, etc.

Personal reminicenses might be recorded in any record of a biographical nature, such as stories in county histories, local histories, an obituary or a newspaper article.

This is why it's helpful to the forum to know more about the people.

Here is a naturalization record for someone with a last name similar to Jetmundson in the same county as they were in 1880. No dates given in the index but this record can be ordered at the Iron Range interpretive center site:

Apparently Christen is still alive in 1885, still in Redwood county:
https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:MQX5-YBJ

1900 US census Christen and Katrina still alive:
https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:M9QZ-CQP
image : https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/3:1:S3HT-6LKC-HC2?i=7&cc=1325221

And Christen's entry reveals that his status is Pa (Papers filed).

I have all names and birth records for the family. The names are spelled differently.
Father: Kristen Jetmundsen, Born 1824 (written, Christen Jetmundson, amongst other)
Mother: Katrine (born Fitje) Jetmundsen. Born 1819, died 1908. (written Kathrine, Kathrina, etc)
Oldest son: Jetmund Kristensen (1847-1937) (written Jetmund Christenson)., wife Olina (e) (1843-1925). Son: Kristen Mathias Jetmundsen (1873-1955) . Daughter: Maria (Born 1882 in US), married to Tom Froistad
Son: Anders Kristensen (born 1849), wife: Sise: Son: Kristen Anderson (born 1875), Daugther: Katrine Anderson (1878 - 1963). Son: Peter Anderson (1882, born in US, - 1944)
Daughter: Jøde Kristensen (1853 - 1938), married to Daniel Hilde (her name is written as Gyda, Jodi, Julia, etc)
Son: Kristen Kristensen (Born 1861, married to Bertha Johanne Kvistad, in the US

This is some of the information I have. Also I know a lot about their offsprings, settlements etc.
But nothing about their depart from the old country or the arrival to the new continent.

Interesting information about the citizenship. May be you can explain more where to find this?

Here is an example of a transcription of the Naturalization Record from Ancestry.com for Daniel Hilde. In some cases the transcription is quite detailed and gives some information on the arrival of the person into America. This one is very simple and gives very little information. It does give the location of the Final Papers.

Daniel Anthonson Hilde
in the Minnesota, Naturalization Records Index, 1854-1957
Name: Daniel Anthonson Hilde
County: Swift
Reel: 4
Code: 11
Volume: C
Page: 435
Document Type: Final Papers
YEARS: 1897 -1903
Numbers: 1-547

His wife Julia Hilde (Jøde Christensdatter Fitje) also applied for citizenship.

Julia Hilde
in the Minnesota, Naturalization Records Index, 1854-1957
Name: Julia Hilde
County: Polk
Reel: 2
Code: 3
Volume: C
Page: 492
Document Type: Declaration of Intention
YEARS: 1882 -1884
Numbers: 1-599

Read about Minnesota Naturalization Records here.

Finding the passage of this rather large family has been very difficult. It sometimes helps to look for other passengers who left on the same day as the people of interest to see if some information can be gathered that way. In this case that has not been successful for me.

Another place to find arrival information can be a passport application. Here is a link to the meta data for the family leaving Bergen.

Link

You can see the last passenger on the list for the Cunard Line is Elling Olsen Lyslo. Here is a passport application for him.

Elling O Lyslo
in the U.S. Passport Applications, 1795-1925
Name: Elling O Lyslo
Age: 59
Birth Date: 14 Jan 1861
Birth Place: Indvegen Bergenstift, Norway
Residence Place: Camp Lake, Minnesota
Passport Issue Date: 1 May 1920
Father: Ole Lyslo
Has Photo: Yes

Here is the application itself, unfortunately it only gives a date for his leaving Norway and that seems to be incorrect since we know he left on April 17. 1880.

Elling O Lysol has also applied for Naturalization. His record does give some information as to where his record is stored.

Elling O Lyslo
in the Web: Minnesota, Naturalization Index, 1849-1985
Name: Elling O Lyslo
Naturalization Year Range: 1849-1943

A URL is attached to the record which leads to the Iron Range Research Center.

Which has the following information and gives you the ability to order the record.

Naturalization Record

Naturalization Record
