Hi.. Through doing my family tree, I have been informed that my great grandfather x3 was the child of a Norwegian Sailor that must have Docked in Conway(Conwy) North Wales in 1882
My grandfather was born August 1883, so the sailor must have been here in 1882,
Is there any way of finding which Ships and crew that was here in 1882??

Thank you

Do you have any documentary evidence of your grandfather's paternity, i.e. mentions of the Norwegian sailor's name etc.?

Painting of the ship Progress af Arendal, Capt. E.C. Olsen:

"af Arendal" indicates that the town of Arendal was the home port.

Progress, Olsen, left Cornway [sic] for Arendal on Nov 13th 1882, according to telegram printed in Norwegian newspaper.

Helvetia, Engebretsen, arrived in Beaumaris on Jan 6th 1883, sailing from Pensacola. (I don't find the sailing date from Conwy.)

Hvideørn, Knudsen, left St. John for Liverpool on Nov 15th 1882.
