Hello, I am having a tough time locating when my Great grandfather, ole Jensen left Norway. Widowed mother died in 1866, Ole would have been 25. Family has deep roots in Notteroy. Anyone have access to records?

It appears that Anton's possible is already out of his parents house by 1865:

The other thing is, if target Ole Jensen was a sailor, as was his father, there might not be any record of his "migration."

| I think I found him leaving June 14, 1867 on the SS Oder to Hull. From Hurdals-Brustad. Google earth shows north of Oslo. |

No record of what ship Ole went to NY on. Most likely an Inman liner but not on any lists.
Jonette, his wife travels in 1868.
The show up on a 1875 Minnesota census.
1880 census shows Jonette head of household and widowed.
No death records can be found.

Pige Jonette Evensdatter, Pige meaning a unmarried woman.
The Transcriber came close with this transcription.

This is likely Ole Jensen leaving Oslo on the Argo? His emigration date is listed as June 14 of 1867, however the Norway Heritage shows the Argo leaving on June 7 and June 21 and the ship leaving on the 14th of June is the Oder. Destination is New York

The Norway Heritage lists for the Oder shows him leaving on July 14 and it also shows him just above the Toyen family (same as the Toxen or Foxes depending on which source you are using.

I think you can ignore the Nationality of German as it seems any one who was not English or Irish was labelled German in the passenger lists. |

Family living in Notteroy.
Father is lost at sea when ole is 8 yrs old.
Does mom and kids move?
Mom dies 1866. I believe ole is married to a Jonette, no proof but there are church baptisms in Minneasota and no marriage records so assuming Norway wedding.
Ole leaves in 1867
Who is Jonette living with in Eidvold when she leaves in 1868
The Quebec trip then to Chicago makes sense except she would have been listed as Jonette Andresen.
She would have arrived in September since she left Oslo on July 21.
Ancestry has her father as Larkin Andresen born in Oslo.

I would have to say that the information that you have given us so far does not hang together well. Is Ole from Notteroy or Hudal. What is Joneettes maiden name? The data from Ancestry. would indicate that her father is named Anders, so the Jonetter found by Jackie in 1865 in Hurdal can not be the right one.
Perhaps we need to go back to square one and begin from the beginning to see who Ole and Jonette really are.
I see from your Tree on Ancestry.com that you believe Ole Jensen was born Dec 27, 1841 in Nøtterøy, Vestfold. That would likely be this one, Ole Christian father is Jens Syverten and mother is Elen Magrethe Olsdatter.

The original record would seem to me to indicate he was actually born in 1840 and baptized on Jan 5, 1841.

He was confirmed in Nøtterøy in 1856, where his birth date is listed as Dec 27, 1840.
