In Petrine's I think is says that all the children are based in Arendal. Petrine's address is 11 Skytebanen, which still has a building there, hard to say if its the same structure now as then.

#12 Amandus Sally Karlsen confirmation:

Apparently the copyist made a mistake and switched the fathers on 11 and 12 and 13. But there is an additional piece of information that Karl Karlsen was Losarbeider.

Totally, there are 1693 just "Karl Karlsen" listings in Agder section papers.

In Agderposten, Onsdag 26 June 1946 there is this OCR read:

"kjære, elskede clatter Tutta Berg!und døde lykkelig i troen på Jesus. Arendal 23. juni 1946. Amalie Berglund. Begraves fra Arendals gravkapell fredag kl. 1. Stokken Alderstrvgden for juni utbetales fredag den "

I've been fooled before with OCR reads of things, is someone with the right ip able to look?

Karl Fredrik Ros and wife Helga and children are living with his parents Karl Ros and Johanna Ros in Arendal in the 1900 Census

https://www.digitalarkivet.no/census/person/pf01037215002013

Parents Kal Ros and Johanna Ros are found in the 1910 Census in Arendal. Where is the family of Karl Fredrik Roos in 1910. Logicaly they would be in Barbu based on the baptism record s posted by Jackie above. But I have not fund them.

Thoralf is Thorvald Berglund's son. Thorvald died July 27, 1896 leaving his son with his parents. I can't read what he died from though.

It says he "fell overboard from steam boat Oscarshal in Christiania." It also says he was confirmed in Arendal in 1890.

Løsarbeider is a worker without a regular work contract; the same as a daglønner. In the 1900 census, (Karl) Fredrik Ros had the occupation of Sagarbeider Dagløn(ner), i.e., a saw(mill)-worker without a regular contract.

But note what is written about the father: Assumed residence: Amerika

Here is his departure, on March 14 1903, the day before Amandus was baptised, and the very same day that Amalie's sister notified the priest.

So Tore, you are trying to say that Karl Ross the senior who was born in 1831 is the father of Amandus? Or just worth investigating further?

Here is Karl Ross' b 1831 FAG memorial:
https://www.findagrave.com/memorial/187581490

Name: Karl Ros
Arrival Date: 28 Mar 1903
Birth Date: abt 1831
Age: 72
Gender: Male
Ethnicity/ Nationality: Swiss
Port of Departure: Liverpool, England
Port of Arrival: New York, New York, USA
Ship Name: Celtic

His destination is to his son Charles Ross who lives at 48 Lasbeth (google correction to Lambeth) St in Brooklyn, New York.

Karl Ross sr's death from the Standard Union pub Thurs 30 Mar 1911 page 6 col 6:
"Body of Drowned Man Identified as Karl Ross
The remains of the drowned man found floating in the water near the foot of Thirty-ninth street yesterday, were identified last night as those of Karl Ross, 70 years old of 11 Hamilton Avenue, by Charles Carlson, a relative."

Then there is this person:
Name: Carl Ross
Arrival Date: 13 Sep 1901
Birth Date: abt 1869
Age: 32
Gender: Male
Ethnicity/ Nationality: Norwegian
Port of Departure: Southampton
Port of Arrival: New York, New York, USA
Ship Name: St Paul

He is going to his brother's, named Charles Ross', place at 47 Carroll Street

I Find the coincidence of the dates striking, but no, his son is still the better match. Now it remains to see when "Charles" arrived in New York, and whether that makes it technically possible for him to be Amandus's father.

Update: Now you added some info and it's getting complicated. Hopefully we can find something on the Norwegian side of Carl jr.'s emigration, if it happended.
