I have a pocket watch that was given to my Grandfather "William Colbeck" that is inscribed saying that it was given to him by the Finnish Government for saving the crew of the Gallus in 1907. I believe that my Grandfather was the Captain on the S/S Romeo at the time.

I would be interested in any details regarding the Gallus and her shipwreck.

Hallo, My great uncle was a crew member on Romeo. His grandson has a similar watch from the Finnish Government, and has done very much research into the incident. I hope this gets to you after seven years.

Regards. Ian.
