I have som information on two passengers, Nos. 112 and 115.
Reinert and Sigbjørn Atlaksen from the farm Åvedal (that they spelled Ovedahl) in Sirdal, Vest-Agder.
Eventually all their siblings emigrated except Osmund Atlaksen, who had the farm.
Eventually most of them changed their family name to Allikson in the United States.
The first preserved letter from Reinert and Sigbjørn is dated October 24, 1853. They had then settled in Coon Prairie in Vernon county, Wisconsin. At that time a third brother was also there: Sivert Atlaksen.

Hello Orm

Thanks for the information. Did you notice that you can actually enter additional information on each individual in the database. If you had clicked no. 112 Reinert Atlagsens's name you would have seen this page: Reinert Atlaksen - individual page

We will have to correct the spelling of that name too.

Webmaster..

Osmund Atlaksen was my great grandfather. There is a whole series of letters from his siblings who all immigrated.

I have tried with no success to find descendants of his siblings in the US. Osmund was my maternal grandmother's father.

Try searching for the name Allikson. Several names will then come up, some in Vernon county, Wisconsin, but also in other locations. At least those in Vernon County will be members of the family originally from Ovedal.
