| Hello! I saw you were looking for information about John Jørgensen Solem and his Family. I am looking for him too, he was my great-great-grandfather. Before John JS married Karen Iversdatter Solem, he had a son, Mikal, with Karen Rasmussen Sagberg, and he was my great-grandfather. After marrying Karen Iversdatter they got at least 7 children: Ingeborg and Beret, born in Norway. John, Johanna, Josephine, Clara and Irene born in Emmet, South Dakota. Maybe I have relatives in America? |

Perhaps you do. There are seven family trees on Ancestry.com for John J Solem and Karen I Klemetsen. The list of children seem to match fairly well your list. None of them have a father or mother listed for John. Most of them reference this 1900 US Census.

The person who created the above Find-a-Grave memorial no longer "maintains" it. Instead, another person has requested to "maintain" it. Usually such a request only comes from a family member. The person who is maintaining Irene's Find-a-Grave memorial is called "Have Paws Will Travel." I checked her Find-a-Grave memorials, and she has a number of "Atchison" memorials. Perhaps she is a cousin and you could write to her through Find-a-Grave.

My husband is the descendent of Beret (Bertha). I would be happy to share all of the information that I have collected and would love information about your line. I had no idea John had been married twice and had other children.

John Jørgensen Solem and Karen Iversdatter, Gumdal were marrie April 10 1885. It was the first marriage for both of them, see #8.

Karen Rasmusdatter was born June 10 1858, see #39.
Her parents, Rasmus Hansen and Maria Amundsdatter, were married July 7 1842, see #10.
