Took forever to finally get to correct last name and not farm name. But seems the whole family made 3 or 4 trips back to Norway. And yes it is the correct people, everything matches up. It was not a inexpensive trip so what could have been the reason? They did not come from money. Any ideas?

Yes, we need to know specifically who your family was, because that's not a typical pattern, so it's hard to tell you why they did this without knowing more about that specific family. Below is a query you posted on another board. Is this the family you are referring to?

"Hit that brick wall, looking for Louis O. was Olsen (Olssen Olsson) from
farm Furseth born 8/1855."
http://archiver.rootsweb.ancestry.com/th/read/NORWAY/2000-12/0977101651

Some of the family members are buried at Hazelwood Cemetery in Bayport, Washington, Minnesota
Louis O. Furseth b 1855, d 1945
Beate M. Furseth b 1867, d 1938
Ole J. Furseth b 5/19/1896, d 3/05/1968
Anton R. Furseth b 1/30/1901, d 2/1973
http://files.usgwarchives.net/mn/washington/cemetery/hazelwoo.txt

Or maybe it's another family you are talking about?

Hi CM - your "brick wall" post was a while ago; realize you likely have found these records since then. Just trying to get a fix on the family you might mean, and hope you don't mind.

To all that replied to my subject I apologize for not responding. I guess I need to just work on one side of one family at a time. JaneC those are my family members that are buried in Bayport. The name they came over from Norway was Lars Anders Olsen, Beate Olsen and Ole Joseph. That was the first time they came as a family with the name Furseth. The second time they brought Ole, Peter Anton and a the brought back a adopted daughter Berth, who seems to have disappeared, but I do remember hearing some mention of her growing up. I don't know about the earlier crossings but as you listed the names match up.
