Hello to all,
I have just joined the site and I am wondering if anyone can point me in the direction to find my fathers service record. He was on the Franconia at the Yalta conference and he was also torpedoed aboard the Napier Star, these are the only details I have for him.
Can anyone help ??

Thanks

RMS Franconia built 1922, Cunard line, served as headquarters for Winston Churchill and the British delegation at the Yalta Conference in 1945 - is that right? So, was your father in the British Royal Navy? Wouldn't those records be archived at the Ministry of Defense?

Hi JaneC,
Yes it was 1945, I thought he was in the merchant navy but a researcher, for the merchant navy association could not find any trace of my father.
This is the first time I have tried to find details and not sure where to look.
