My grandmothers sister's birth certificate showed her mother's name as Antoinette Stokke; in later years she said her mothers name was Antoinette Vikan.
My grandmother's death certificate showed her mothers name as Antoinette Vikan.
My G-grandmother showed her name as AnneToinette Georgina Einersdatter Stokke on her marriage certificate. She listed her fathers name as Einer Stokke and her mothers name as Augustina Stokke on that same document. Born- 17 Nov 1842 M-1867 D-31 Mar 1887 at Eau Claire, WS.
I believe I have found her name on the ship Vidfarne's manifest leaving Tronheim on 24 May 1866 and arriving in Quebec on 22 Jul 1866 as Antonnette Udstokke (#220). Her future husband Ole Arnstad (215) and future brother-in law Mathias Arnstad names are shown a few names above hers on the same boat. It would be a heck of a coincidence not to be her as I do not believe many Norweigians were given the name of Antoinette.
I believe that I have her connected to her parents Einer Jo(h)nson Haldorsen Viken (1816-1861) as her father and Augustina Caroline Elisa Buschman von Hagerup (1820-1888) as her mother from the information obtained from the Frosta books.
Looks like all her father's brother names were all shown as Viken, but his children are all shown as Vikan.
One of his children - Karen married a Johan Stokke. Another of his children -Emilie married a Hagen Stokke.

The only two documents that came from her (that I have found) are her marriage license and her first daughters bith certificate where she listed her name as Stokke
So, I started out thinking that Antoinette's name was Stokke and her farm name was possibly Vikan - but now I am beginning to think that maybe her farm name was Stokke and her given name was Vikan. I see both names listed as farm names. My G-grandfather Ole Olson Arnstad (B-26 May 1847) was born and lived in Skatval, Stjordal, Tronheim and so I imagine that she lived nearby before going to the USA.
Any thoughts?

Cliff

Wow - that was very quick - THANK YOU so much -
This was the family that I thought possibly were hers.
Can you send me a link to her birth as she was born prior to 1845 I could not page back and see?
Now here is the question - Einer shows his name as Vigen when married but his fathers name was Wigen??
When his two younger children were born he is listed as Vikan and his last child he is listed again as Vigan?
Do you have any idea why this could be?
