Where does the birth date and location come from.

In the parish records for Larvik, Vestfold for 1844 I find the following.

Christopher born Sept 17, 1844

#45

Parents a little hard to read but look like

Hans (or Hac?) Semb Nielsen and Karen Christiansen

The family can be found in the 1865 Norwegian Census.

1865

Based on the 1865 Census his name is Hac or Hack Sem Nielsen

Since it appears that Christopher uses the last name of Nielsen and that he is still around for the 1875 Census he is not a good candidate.

I have not found any good candidates for your Christoffer Hansen born in 1844 in Larvik, Vestfold, Norway.

Another way to search is using the Ancestry.com data base "Norway, Select Baptisms, 1634-1927". This data base is not totally complete for all of Norway but it is easily searched. Using Chirs* father named Hans and born 9 Nov 1844 does not turn up any candidates in the whole of Norway.

So we are missing some vital information here.
