Second entry, #50 Bent Kristian. His father's name is something (occupation?) something (additional name?) Bent Kristian Bentsen of Grimstad something (farm name?) The rest pretty much makes sense to me and I can decipher most of the God Parents' names.... The last column says something about September 9th (day before his baptism) and his Aunt Karoline Sorensdr. I've not yet pieced together the details but I'm hoping that last section has the clue I need. As, I can't find any info on his mother Anna after this and for most of his life, he (Bent) was raised at Berge by other family members and then came to America where many of his cousins wound up in Brooklyn... As his aunt Sofie (God Mother) moved there and help set up many family members in Brooklyn. Bent is the cousin to my Husband's great grandmother and was a witness on her american marriage license and was also Godfather to my husband's grandmother and great uncle. I know y'all don't need all that extra info, but I figure it couldn't hurt. Thank you, in advance for your help!!
Yes! thank you! Most of this branch of the tree was baptized there. I'm pretty solid on that point. Just have some language barrier issues. I've been going through the book page by page as I don't think it is searchable.
