Hello! My first post to this forum although I have lurked for some time!
I am hoping for assistance in translating a baptismal entry for Johan Johannesen, found here: http://urn.digitalarkivet.no/URN:NBN:no-a1450-kb20070612610205.jpg
I can make out most of the detail, but I don't know what the "s. og Anders Davigsen" under Johannes' name might be in reference to. (son of??)

It is a d for Dĝbt so baptized by Andres Davigsen. His parents are Johannes Eriksen and Sophie Thomasdatter. He was probably baptized 1st at home later in the church.

Vadsĝ Church where he was bapt. was destroyed by the Germans Oct. 22. 1944 link

Thank you. I have been spending a lot of time in the church records for several parishes in Finnmark. Johan Johannesen was my 2nd Great-grandfather. His son, Edward Sigvard, immigrated to the US in 1881 and settled in Wisconsin, where my grandfather, Theodore Gib Johnson, was born in 1900.

Farmer and Fisher Johan Johannensen Storskogen, Sĝr-Varanger municipality, farm Storskog 1865.
He and his wife Anna Jacobsdatter had 5 daughters (Datter) and 3 sons (Sĝn) link

Sĝr-Varanger

Storskog is the border where one can pass between Russsia and Norway
