Some information on Kari Torstensdatter.
Probably her on Schjørboten unmarried in the 1801 Census. Her father is Tosten Gutormsen mother is Olea Halvorsdtter.
1801
There are several baptism records for Kari Tostensdatter Schjørbote as mother with several different men. Hard to determine if there is only one Kari Tostensdatter Schjørbote or not.

I have not forgotten about your Ole Gundersen born about 1858. There are not a lot of Gundersen"s to be found in Aasnes. There is one that could be of some interest. He is Petter Julius Gundersen born September 29, 1848. His mother is Johanne Jørgensdatter Linnerud. Here are mother and son on Linnurd in 1865. He can also be found in the 1891, 1900 and 1910 Census.

So far I have not found the father.

Lyndal40....Thanks for the Gunder Pedersen names above. I will check them out.
Also, you said that Petter Julius Gundersen born in 1848 may be of interest to me. Could you tell me how/why you think there might be a connection. Thanks |

At the time I was posting the comment about Petter Julius Gundersen, I was grasping for straws and looking for some child named Gundersen or Gundersdatter hoping to come across a Gunder that might lead to the father of your Ole Gundersen. Petter Julius was of interest in that he was born about 1848, not so far from your Ole in about 1858. I did not find anything of further help with Petter Julius but I will keep him in mind. I would like to know who his father is and if he was born out of wedlock. |

I sure would like to know who Ole Gunderson's father is too. I think we covered this in my posts from a few years ago, but one of my husband's relatives once told us she "remembers" hearing that Ole Gunderson was born in Trondhiem. She was sure of it. I have never seen any reference to that anywhere and I think I tried looking that up and did not find anything. It is quite a way away from Hedmark, so I don't know if there is another town with a similar name? Just a thought. |

Possible but not likely.
In the Ancestry.com data base there are no Ole's born in 1858 plus/minus 2 with father named Gunder for Trondheim.
For Sør-Trøndelag there are five Ole's born in 1858 plus/minus 2 with father named Gunder but none with a mother named Karen. |

I have just heard from Michael Swenson of UND but not with any new results for a Morten Sørensen. Here is his message.
"I checked the books for Åsnes for this family. First of all, p. 164 of volume 1 lists Karen’s patronymic as Martinusdatter rather than Markusdatter. This could be verified by checking her marriage record on Digitalarkivet. There is no farm called Biertnes according to the index to the Åsnes books. Nothing about Morten Sørensen at either Nyen, Salterud, or Floberg. Michael Swanson"
Not too surprising I guess. |
