Does anyone have any information on the records of this church which was established in 1865 by Andreas Hansen, funded by Christian Salveson. A new church was built in 1869, based on a design of a church in Copenhagen. King Haakon visited the church in 1841. I understand that the records were duplicated and sent to Norway. The building is now Leith School of Art.
When you get there, look at the two choices under parish registry select the choice from abroad. The paragraph explains that these are largely Norwegian Seaman's church records. After you've clicked the button and the search engine loads input leith in the city/ parish field or click in that field for a drop down list and select Leith from the UK.
Thanks everyone. I have found the handwritten entry for my great great uncles baptism in February 1873 in the Norwegian Seamens Church in Leith. Ive also been able to read a history of that church. Such a treat!
