There is an ancestry database that gives the parents of Ole H Peterson as Peder Ellingson Haraldseteie and Ronnaug Olsdatter and that Ole was born 17 Feb 1865 in Nes Hallingdal Norway. There is no document offered which would allow one to believe this, since his data per censuses seem a little bit all over the board. That may be the persistence of the middle initial H but that is only speculative.

Nes (Hallingdal) bygdebok IV under Haraldsetmoen / Ronnaugmoen (Ronnaugstugu) gnr 86 bruk 4 page 212-214, says this:

Per Erlendsen Marteplassen (under Jorde) fra Sisselmoen b 1797 d 1867 married 1858 Ronnaug Olsdtr Enderudeie, fra Storegutplassen (with or else under Enderud, in Krodsherad b 1826 d. 1912.

Per was married before with Gunbjorg Andresdtr Marteplassen who died in 1857, they had 3 children together and the text directs to Marteplassen (which I didn't go to, to get) story to get details about them.

Ronnaug was the daughter of Ola Eivindsen who was called Storeguten and his wife Marta Trulsdtr from Torsteinrud or Bjoreplassen and cites Krodsherad 1 page 517 and Nu #34 published 1905

Before her marriage Ronnaug had a daughter named Marte Knutsdtr who died in America. Marte's father was Knut Knutsen Kvaleteig.

Marte had a daughter named Birgit Pettersdtr who was born 1873 with Petter Hanssen Kirkeby in Hakadal which is where Birgit lived in 1893

Marte had another daughter named Anne Johanne Andreasdtr in 1887 or 1888 when Marte was in Nannestad. There is more about her in the text which I'm not sure of translation but will try to get.

Ronnaug's 3rd daughter before her marriage to Per was Beret Olsdtr who was born in 1856 who is thought to have died before 1865, the father of Beret was Ole Andresen Medgarden from Flaa.

Per and Ronnaug had 3 children:
Erlend Persen b 1859 who went to America in 1882 destination Milwaukee Wisconsin and who died in America but no other details.

Gunbjorg Persdtr b 1862 d 1928 maried in 1883 Osten Halvorsen Vissebraten (under Eidal), they went to America in 1885 together with one child. They first went to Ulen Minnesota and then from 1889 and on in Coburn Twp in Ransom county North Dakota, with a total of 10 children. Her husband was called in America Austin H. Strand. The text cites two articles in Hallingen the publication of the Hallinglag in America.

The first is January 1916 page 41-42 which is an article about Austin Strand of a little over a page in length, it does tell that Austin and Gunbjorg came to US on the Lord Clive plus a lot of other details which expands information in the bygdeboker. Also mentions that Gunbjorg is a half sister of the mother, Guri Gronna, of then Senator Asle Gronna of North Dakota. (must be from the half siblings at Marteplassen)

The other article is an obituary of Gunbjorg wife of Austin Strand who submitted it to Hallingen where is was published in June1929 page 39-40. The obituary does mention her surviving children and husband but not any surviving siblings.

Ola Persen was born in 1865 went to America in 1885 d in America and was mentioned as being there in 1912 (likely in some record about his mother's death that year) but no other details.

In the bygdebok it says, Ronnaug continued to live on Haraldsetmoen in 1875 and 1900 under care of social service. She died in 1912 on Lykkja in Rukkedalen but was called Haraldsetmoen.

Sorry for some reason the Norwegian letters, o with slash and a with halo are not printing for me here today.

The 1916 story of the sister's family tells that they landed in Philadelphia on 13 May 1885 on the Lord Clive. Ancestry has the arrival as occurring on 12 May 1885. Here Osten the husband is leaving Oslo:
https://www.digitalarkivet.no/en/view/8/pe00000000454937

On the list there is one group of three which appear to be Osten, Gunbjorg and their daughter Barbra, not numbered but as

Aast H Stard (or Staad) age 26,Male, Holland(!) laborer not been in US before
Mrs. " age 24 female wife
Er " age 1 female child

I didn't see any other that might be Ole.
