| We are trying to find out what happened to a relative, Otto Lloyd Iverson, born in 1922 in Beulah, Mercer County, ND. His parents were Christian Matthew Iverson (1880-1968) and Alida Helland Iverson (1887-1935). Otto's sister, Anna Belle Easton, had apparently arranged for her brother to live in a retirement or nursing home in Milwaukee, WI. When Anna died in ND Oct. 7, 2002, neighbors tried to contact the brother, but the letter was returned unopened. Does anyone have access to death records in and around Milwaukee? We have tried to get help from the Deeds Office at the Milwaukee County Courthouse, but they will not help us unless we know the date of his death (vicious circle...). Thanks for any information! |

Interesting that this old post has turned up again!
It was quite a process to find Otto Lloyd Iverson, but we finally found him and visited him twice before he passed away. He was the first cousin of my mother-in-law, but the family had lost touch with his parents many years ago. One day, I got the idea of looking for some sort of organization for senior citizens in Beulah, ND, and when I found one, I called one of the officers listed. She recognized the name right away and could tell me that he was in a nursing home in Milwaukee. We got in touch with them and arranged to visit the next time we were in the US. I think we were the only relatives who visited Otto during his stay at the nursing home. Otto had a guardian, and we could keep up to date through him, and we were also informed when Otto died. We could not attend the funeral, but since it was small, everyone seemed to think we were a part of it, and my husband's name was mentioned in the obituary as a survivor! |
