| Bubba | I am trying to trace the route by which my grandparents left Berdichev, Ukraine (1904 or 1905)to travel (presumably at least partially by sea) to England. I see thanks to your site, that people travelled to Hull, then to Liverpool and then continued their journeys. My grandparents seem to have settled in Leeds and then at some later time my grandfather went on to USA leaving his wife & 3 sons whom he promised to send for. They never heard from him again. I have been unsuccessful, without dates, name of ship etc.in tracking him arriving USA so thought I could try tracking him arriving in England. His name was Maurice (Morris or Moishe) Michaelovitch (anglecized spelling I think). Would appreciate any assistance or advice.

As far as I know, there are no lists for arrivals from European ports to England. The best chance is by tracing him in the arrival lists in the US. However, that will be a time consuming job, when you do not know the dates. Also, if he wanted to disappear, he could have changed his name. There are also other sources you could use. Did you try the Ellis Island database?
