Karl M. Meldahlsen (48y) from Nasset, Norway, arrived on Ellis Island, New York on April 03, 1915.
He arrived with the ship Kristianiafjord, departured from Bergen, Hordaland [county], Norway, on March 25th.
The manifest states that their final destination was Karls sister-in-law Beret Olsen, 1604 8th ave, Seattle, Wash. (Beret is Marit's sister)
Together with him on the ship was:
- Marit E. Meldahlsen, 43y, wife, pob: Næsset.
- Meyer P. Meldahlsen 18y, son, pob: Fosnes.
- Konstance M. Meldahlsen, 9, daughter, pob: Fosnes.
- Ludvig, Meldahlsen, 7y, son, pob: Fosnes.
- Kristian, Meldahlsen, 4y, son, pob: Fosnes.
- Emma P. Meldahlsen, 3y, daughter, pob: Fosnes.
- Harald Meldahlsen, 8 months (?), son, pob: Næsset.
The youngest son in born in Næsset, so it looks like the family have moved to the place where Karls wife was born, Næsset i Møre & Romsdal. Karls place of birth says Namdalen. The district around Fosnes is called Namdalen.
Karls brother Anton Meldahlsen, Næsset, Namdalen is noted as closest relative on the manifest.
Anton's residence indicates that there might be a place called Næsset in the Fosnes area also. Strange...
