Passenger List for S/S Geiser (Geyser) ???
storemyrHow can I find the passanger list for the S/S Geiser, Thingvalla Line, which left from Kristiania 12 July 1883, and arrived in New York 27 July 1883? I am looking for my ggrandfather's nephew Ole K Jensen. He went by Ole K Johnson in the USA. He was 20 years old at the time. Any assistance greatly appreciated. Storemyr
jwiborgHi, the passenger list can be found here. Select the list "Emigrants sailing from Kristiania 1871-1930". Find records where Dep.date equals 12.07.1883, you should get 205 hits. But there is noone called Ole K Jensen, age 20 in the list... [B)] There is one Ole Nylen (22) from Sweden, Ole Jens. Nerlie (35), Ole Severinsen (28) and Ole O. Borud (24). Jan
Jo Anne SadlerYou can rent the microfilm passenger list at a local Family History Center - www.familysearch.org or from the National Archives - www.nara.gov
storemyrThanks Jan, Actually, the information I have comes from the database you suggest. If you put Ole's name in as Ole "Jens", it will serve up an Ole Jens (Andersen), and that is my man. What I was trying to find was any news/list at his arrival in New York. Thanks again, Storemyr

Then you will have to look at the microfilm from NARA, or if you are very lucky the list could be at the ISTG (follow links to external sources)
storemyrThanks Jo Anne, The problem for me is I have not been able to find the list published at either of these two sources. If you can find it I would apprecite some direction. Thanks again, Storemyr

Thanks Borge, The tip to use the "links to external sources" was very useful. Storemyr
