Egeland from Sandnes
gilbertwa	Greetings, We are searching for any and all information about my great-grandmother Bertine Egeland. Any information is appreciated. Bertine Egeland (The name they used when coming to America was Eigeland or Eikeland, nobody really knows) She came over in 1881 with her parents and a brother. Peter. She was born in the Sandnes area of the Hoyland Parish, near Stavanger. Thanks, Gilbert Walz
Brining	Do you know when Bertine or Peter was born? What were their parents names? They would have probably emigrated out of Stavanger but the list on the Digitalarkivet is incomplete and made up from different sources. There are lots of Egelands but they also could have traveled using their patronymic name (read the article on the main page "Those Norwegian names, tips for the "online" researcher") If we have the parents names we might be able to locate them in the 1865 census.
