Seeking help with passenger lists!
MagdaleneI've been searching for any record of my ancestors: Helmar and Maggie (Marstend) Alstad, or Jens P. and Josephine (Hanson) Houg for months and I've hit a brick wall. Any help (or advice) would be greatly appreciated!

MagdaleneSorry! I think my excitement at finding this site made me post too hastily! :-) This is the information that I have - and it's not much: Helmar Alstad was born in Norway, 1869. He married Maggie Marstend, (born in Norway around 1871-72) and their first child, Ragna, was born in 1893 in South Dakota. They then moved to Minnesota around 1905-1910. I have basically ZERO info about Jens P. Houg. I know that his wife, Josephine Magdalene Hanson, was born in Norway on 20 August 1849. I believe that her parents were Ole Hanson and Sophie Jacobsdatter Norvold from Sorum, Akershus, Norway. Josephine and Jens' children were all born in Minnesota, starting around 1876 or so. This is all the info I have! By the way, Jan, thanks for your info, but unfortunately the dates just don't add up. However, I really appreciate your help! As ever, any help is greatly appreciated. ~Maggie
