Juno ship on Allan line
RBurchOn Digitalarkivet: Emigrants from Trondheim 1867-1930, we find our ancestor registered on 19.04.1893 on the Allan Line on the ship Juno. I would like help on finding a picture of this ship but so far have not found a Juno listed in the Allan line. His distination was Harmony, MN, but other passengers on the page were going to Canada. Thanks!
Jo Anne SadlerRecommend you do research on this from this site, Arrivals/Departures/Agents/Lines, etc. The Juno was a feeder ship delivering passengers to Hull England, then a train to Liverpool or Glascow and then a transatlantic ship to North America. You probably will be able to figure out from the information on this site as to what ship they took and their final port of destination. Good luck[:D]
RBurchIf a ticket was bought on the Allan line in Trondhjem to travel to New York, would the person travel all the way on the same ship line or possible change lines in Liverpool? Thanks.
BriningThe Juno was part of the Wilson line, when your ancestor got to Hull he/she would have taken an Allen line ship to the US. Here is a list of the possible connections Click Here You might want to read the article on this site "Migration via the port of Hull" There is a link on the main page. It helps explain a lot. Carla
SueAs Carla mentioned, if you check Trond's database of connecting ships http://www.norwayheritage.com/t_corresp.asp?id=6792 you will see first the Allan Line Sardinian, but as she departed Liverpool on April 20th, look to others on the list. See the Laurentian. It is one of the "confirmed" connections for Juno and fits best.
