Engelbretsen
RosieI am currently researching my family history on the Engelbretsen side and would like to find out more about why they came to New Zealand. My great great grandfather Johannes Engelbretsen came to New Zealand on board the Hovding with his wife Inge Marie(Pedersdatter) and children. He was born in 1832, Eda, Dalsland, Sweden and Inge Marie was born 1838, Areark, Ostfold, Norway. They married in Tonsberg on 6/9/1863. It would be great to get an idea on the landscape at the time and the conditions they endured in Norway and what sort of people they were. It would also be interesting to find out about any relatives they may still have in Norway/Sweden. Thanks Rosie
