Botner |
Eklund | I am lookin for information on the Botner Family. They emigrated to North America in 1865. They went to Ridgeway, IA I believe. Can anyone tell me what they did in Iowa. I know the name was changed to Bothner for some of them when they came to Canada. Why?? Look forward to hearing from anyone. |
askeroi | Hi Eklund. I had a quick glance at the 1865 cencus of Norway. As I espected there were more than one Botner family. There's one in Christiansund; 7 persons in Brandvold, Hedmark; 2 in Berg, Østfold; and one person in Moss, Østfold. As you state no first names, no information on where they came from I'm afraid this is all I can give you.
But perhaps you're more interested in the time since they came to "the new world"?
Gave it a try...,

lands | Hi Eklund,
I have family that currently live in Ridgeway and they have lived in and around that area for over 150 years.
Ridgeway is basically a farming area, corn, sow beans.
If you can provide a little more information on this family I may be able to provide some information.
