Lily Elfreda Peterson - Stavanger
ConniMy mother-in-law Lily Elfreda Peterson, born June 10, 1903, in Stavanger came to Canada when she was approx. 5 yrs old. Her mother, Marie Tolofson, returned to Norway and her father, Otto Peterson, after working as a bricklayer in Ottawa, On, went on to the US. Lily was left behind in Riceville, On. She never shared any details of her early life and actual arrival date, port of entry, ship, etc. as well as what became of her mother / father are a mystery to this day. We have searched the passenger lists in the Public Archives Canada without success. Any suggestions or information would be appreciated.

ConniTx Jan Amazed that you found this info so quickly & based on data similarities quite likely that this is she. Is there a source available that provides info on ships sailing from Norway in that time frame and would there be any more info on her mother?
Jo Anne Sadler"Is there a source available that provides info on ships sailing from Norway in that time frame" Yes, this website - Departures 1825-1925. By referring to this Index you will see that the departures from Stavanger were going to Hull, England. There are several excellent articles on this site detailing the journey from Hull to the final point of desitination in North America.
