SS Visor
galenIn 1880, my Gullingsrud ancestors first traveled from Oslo to Bremen, Germany on the steamer "King Bjorn." From Bremenhaven they traveled on the steamship "Visor" to America. The sailing took eight weeks and the steamer docked in New York city where they were taken to Castle Gardens. This information comes from family data. I am looking for the ships passanger list for this event and have been unable to locate any. Can anyone help?
James E HegI found seven Gullingsruds arriving NYC in ship WESER on 10 May 1880 from Bremen. Their place of origin is given as Sweden: Anders M age 8, Erik M age 14, Gunhild F age 19, Kan F age 52, Karl F age 15, Ole M age 56, and Ole M age 11. I can no longer bring up the entire pass. list at this site. If it is helpful, I can e-mail this part of the list to the webmaster. Jim
galenI am very interested in the information you menioned 10/4/04 re: the ship "Weser." The Gullingsrud family you cited could be mine. Would you please contact me at gnwillis@msn.com with more about the passenger list for the Weser? Thank you. Galen Willis
