Christen Andersen the Musteteer
JeannetteI have been trying to find the records of my gt gt grandfather Christen Andersen. He didn't marry my gt grandfather Anders Christen Christensen's mother. But Anders C Christensen, born 19th Dec 1839, was confirmed 1 oct 1854 at the Vestre Aker church and he is described as living at 'Holmen Farm' and being the son of Randine Pedersdatter [unmarried] and Musketeer Christen Andersen. He was a military man of some sort, born at Oslo about 1812. I have no idea where to search for his military records. We think he later married Lisbet Knudsdatter about 1841. Without the marriage of Anders'parents it has proved very difficult to find Christan Andersen's birth at Christiania [Oslo]. Any help would be appreciated.
ninakarlsIn the 1865-census in Aakebergsveien, Grønlands Parish, Christiania lives Christen Andreas Anders. ex. Liutenant now farmer b. in Frederikshald about 1802 with wife Charlotte b. Binfield about 1802 in England , They have son Sarahldo Binfield Anders. age 16 b. in Aas parish. Could this be Anders' father? There's been done quite a lot of research on this family before: http://www.geocities.com/christensennz/chris-no.html There is also a shop assistant Randine Peders. age 48 born in Asker living in Oslo in 1865.
Jo Anne SadlerVestre Aker church is located in Oslo. If he was confirmed there and you believe his was born in Oslo, a good chance his baptism (Døpte) was at this church. The Vestre Aker parish records have been extensively microfilmed by LDS, the baptism record for 1839 is microfilm #125843. Whether or not his parents married should make no difference in his baptism, it just would be noted in the record. http://www.familysearch.org/Eng/Library/fhlcatalog/supermainframeset.asp?display=titlefilmnotes&columns=*%2C0%2C0&titleno=41040&disp=Kirkeb%C3%B8ker++
