Ship Oder
Donald D. DanielsonMy great grandparents emigrated on the ship "Oder" April 24, 1874. Where can I get a picture of the ship? Where did it sail from and where did it sail to? What was the ship's company?[:D] Their names were Engebret and Anne Trostagermoen. They were from Fåvang in Ringebu kommune. They emigrated with two year old daughter, Mari.
BorgeHi Donald By following the same steps as explained in the post about the S/S Marsdin (S/S Oder was also a feeder belonging to the Wilson Line) to jwerne, I found them at the Digitalarkivet: Here. The agency was "Henderson Brothers", representatives for the Anchor Line. Corresponding ships for the for the S/S Oder journey 1874-04-24 Christiania - Christiansand - Hull, was only the S/S Sidonian belonging to the Anchor Line, departing Glasgow 1874-04-30 arriving Halifax 1874-05-13 (via Liverpool) and arrival St. Johns 1874-05-14. However, this connection is not confirmed by telegrams, but I would start by checking that list.
Donald D. DanielsonOn another posting I saw a picture of S/S Hero. Is there a like picture of the Oder available from any source?
