Engedalen again |
hp011b5562_2 | My great grandfather was from Fridrikshald ,but moved to Onso, one of his children in the 1865 census was born in Engedalen,i believe Onso is now part of Fredrikstad |
askeroi | 1. Why start a new subject on an old question? [V]
2. Why not tell us your grandfather's name - no need for everyone to go through the 1865 cencus to find out it's Kaurin Pedersen. [:(!]
3. Your grandfather is the only person in the entire cencus who's listed with this as a birthplace. There is one farm in Fet, Akershus, and one in Eidskog, Hedemark, by this name. However none of them, or the Engerdalen I suggested in the original topic, are logic places to look for the birth of someone living in Onsų/Fredrikshald (or Halden as the latter is called nowadays), especially as the rest of the family are born in Onsų/Fredrikshald. Could it be a very small, local place?
