| Richard Line | Johannes Gunnarson (Line) born Jan 14,1840 immigrated to Minn after my Grandfather Gabriel was born in 1873. No record found in St. Albans index cards via soundex for Gunnarson or Line.
He returned to Norway (did not like Indians) and remarried in 1880).
How do I find him ?

| Borge | If you did not find him in St.Albans index, it might indicate that he did not enter the US from Canada. He might have entered a US port like New York or Boston. If you do not have more information it will be the good old "needle in the heystack".
Did check out the Norwegian emigration registers, the police lists?

| Richard Line | I check a while ago concerning records of emmigration from Stravanger/Bergen.
Not recently - I suupose new info is added when found.
Why are there no record of people entering Norway ? You would think the same ship goes back and forth to America and the captain would maintain records routinely.
