"Lost family"?
erika leighMy grandparents, Hans Hendrickson Thorsnes and Anna Ragnhilde Sandhaug Thorsnes, had one child together-my father, Harvey Charles Thorsnes. According to my fathers' Birth Certificate, they were both from Norway and were both 40 years old at the time of his birth in 1926, which would have them born sometime in 1886. This was my grandmothers second marriage and my father was her 4th living child. I did not have my father in my life growing up and only "met" him towards the end of his life. Unfortunately we did not get to much time together and I lost the opportunity to learn anything about his family. I have tried many ways to locate his relatives but haven't been successful. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Erika Thorsnes

askeroiIn 1865 Knut Sandhaug was foster son on the Sandhaug farm in Strandebarm: http://digitalarkivet.uib.no/cgi-win/webcens.exe?slag=visbase&filnamn=f61226&variabel=0&postnr=1738&fulle=true&spraak=n Who his father, Thorbjørn, was I can't say. Sorry...
HopkinsTwo volumes of the bygdebok for Strandebarm in Hordaland are copied onto LDS microfiche. You could order those at the nearest LDS Family History Center. Have a good Norwegian-English dictionary handy - such books are always in Norwegian.
erika leighThis is really exciting-I am so happy with this help. Now I just have to figure out how to read these lists. Erika
