Rost family in Montana
Michael Foster	I have been doing some genealogy research for my wife's family and have hit a wall. i have found a listing in the 1865 census that has listed the family and can trace them to Story City in Iowa from an 1880 census. i would like to find the date the family migrated to the US and how the family came by the last name of Rost. this is the link to the 1865 census from Norway - http://digitalarkivet.uib.no/cgi-win/webcens.exe?slag=visbase&filnamn=arkivverket/ft1865/f61927&postnr=2325&spraak= if anyone can help me out i would greatly appreciate it.
Michael Foster	the persons i am researching are Kristian Jenssen and his family. My wifes great great grandfather is Karl L. Kristiansen (Carl Ludwig Rost). he homesteaded in the Flathead valley in Montana.
Hopkins	In the 1900 US census he is listed as having emigrated in 1875. But in the 1910 his emigration year is listed as 1860 and in the 1920 census it says 1866.... The 1920 census also lists that he became a naturalized citizen in 1886 - if you are lucky the papers of naturalization process just MIGHT have another clue or two.
