"Paa" means?
iverskatjust to know what the name Paa would be in reference to. g-grandfather was Maurits Paa Fintland. He was born abt 1475 at Fintland,Sirdal,Vest-Adger,Norway.
jwiborgHi, paa in this sentence should be translated to "at" or "on". Maurits at Fintland, meaning Maurits living at/on the Fintland farm. Modern spelling would be Maurits@Fintland... [:D] One question though... your g-grandfather was born over 500 years ago??? [;)] Jan NB: The county is spelled Vest-Agder.
iverskatTY jwiborg for that info [:I] I shoudl have said he was one of the many greats i found-think the 8th. am surprised i got that far back.
askeroiThis doesn't sound reasonable. Even if we say 40 years between each generation - and that's extremely much for such a long period - then you're born around 1865 and nearly 140 years old. I don't believe that. Either 1475 is a misprint or Mouritz is much more than your 8 times great grandfather... Another thing is how did you get that far? Not many people do that withaout being of noble or royal family. I'd like to see that line...
iverskatI started with great-father Iver and clicked on his father, then his father, then his father, ect.beause each time it showed who was thier mother and father and sometimes wife were. And Maurits was the 13th. and i am pretty sure I started out with the right Iver because if i didn't it is all just a big goof.[:p]
jwiborgHow nice! [:)] Why can't we all just click on our ancestors, to go back in time... [:p] Jan
