Feeder Ship to Boston 1907
kerrieOn Digitalarkivet I have an Alick Ericsen leaving Norway to Boston on 11 May 1907. I have ordered the relevant ship lists from LDS and I am having trouble finding him. I also have been unable to find him on the 1910 census in America but have him in Duluth in 1930. As it states on Digitalarkivet that he was going to Boston on "Oslo" would that mean that he went directly to Boston or would there have been a feeder ship involved, and if so where might I be able to find out the name of that Feeder ship. Would the feeder ship have left straight away or could it have been days or weeks later? I realise this is perhaps not the correct topic to use but it was the best I could come up with. Sorry. Thank you in advance for your help.[:)]
jwiborgHi, as far as I can see, there is noone called "Alick Ericsen" going with the ship "Oslo" to Boston on May 11th, 1907..... was he a stowaway....? [:D] Or do you by "Alick Ericsen" mean Alexander Eriksen Borge , who departured on the same day? Please try to be accurate when putting out names, atleast when referring to archives such as the Emigrant database...., or even better; put up the link to the listings... [:)] According to this overview, the ship Oslo travelled Oslo-Hull, so there is a feeder ship involved in his journey, probably from Liverpool. Jan
BorgeThe S/S Oslo was a Wilson Line ship sailing as a feeder between Oslo - Kristiansand - Hull. from Hull the emigrants crossed England by train mainly to Liverpool. M. R. Raffel was the general agent of the Cunard Line in Norway, that indicates that Alexander Eriksen Borge (if that is the right person) crossed on a Cunard Line ship from Liverpool to Boston, most likely arrival is the S/S Ivernia arriving Boston on May 23 or the next arrival which was the S/S Saxonia arriving on June 6.
kerriePlease forgive me for getting his name wrong as I did not have the information at hand when I asked. I am sorry for confussing the matter. He appears as Alick Erickson in the SSDI and the 1930 census in America. I appreciate your advice and now I know I have the correct films. Thank you Børge.
