Family of Skaalerud in America
Mona	Hi all I am looking for my family in America. The surname is Skaalerud and i know of Martha Skaalerud, borned 1891 in Feiring in Norway. She travelled to America in 1908. She was a sister of my great grandfather as far as I know. Is there someone who knows anything.
Hopkins	The 1910 US census shows Martha Skaalerud (19 yrs old born Norway, immigrated 1908) to be living in Minneapolis, Hennepin County, Minnesota at 1222 20th Avenue North. She is in the household of a John Daly and works there as a servant.
Hopkins	There are three other listings in index of households in the 1910 US census using Skaalerud as surname (exact spelling only). Ole M. Skaalerud (48 yrs old born Norway) living in Otter Tail County, Minnesota; James Skaalerud (28 yrs old born Wisconsin) and Hilda Skaalerud (23 yrs old born Wisconsin) - both living in Kandiyohi County, Minnesota.
Mona	Hi Thank you very much for your information. But do you have an idea of how I can find out if she got herself a family and children? Ole M. Skaalerud is also my family, I just spoke with my cousin about it. But I havent found out exact who he was. I have just started to look for my family and I dont know how to find out about Martas family in America. Her full name I think was Marta Kornelia Skaalerud.

Mona	Hello Unfortenatly, I have not found out anything more, the woman who had posted the information didnt know anything more. So I hope that someone else maybe could help me with some more information, I think she maybe was married to a man with LØVENG as his surname. And Martha died in 1958. Her name is spelled different sometimes, both Marthe and Martha is used. And the middlename was Kornelia. Also the surname is spelled differently, both Skaalerud, witch is correct, and Skålerud.
Hopkins	The 1920 US census shows a Borger or Berger H. Loveng with a wife named Martha living in Multnomah County, Oregon (Portland city). I can't easily read the handwriting but she appears to be listed as 29 years old and immigrated about 1908?. Oldest child is a son named Glen (10 yrs old?) and two younger daughters Ruth and Magnele???.
Mona	Hi Yes, this must be the persons I am looking for. Is it possible for you to look at the US census later than 1920 to maybe find some of the children, and their children again. I suppose the childs of Martha is too old to live now, but maybe if theyr children got some kids. I would be very happy.
Hopkins	The only US census later than 1920 which has been made public is the 1930 and I don't have access to that census index. The US Social Security Death Index lists two Lovengs from Portland, Oregon - Berger (1888-1969) and Glenn (1918-1988).
Mona	Hi Thanks for the information, I have checked with the withe pages and found out that there isnt so many people named Loveng in America, so I really hope that some of them is related to either Glenn or his sisters. Do you know of some pages were I can find peoples email adresses?
Mona	Hi I have now found out that Glenn Loveng, son of Martha and Berger, was married to a woman named Vivian Loveng. Is there someone who knows anything about these people, children for example.
Mona	I am still looking, and I found a notice from some people looking for family of Ole Loveng, the brother of Berger Loveng. But that was in 1998, and I tryed to send a mail but got the mail back, The adress was dloveng@bc.sympatico.ca They had not written theyr names on
