searching Ringheim
sir	It reacently came to my knowledge that my great grandfather, Ivar P Ringheim, had an unknown brother who emigrated to US in his early years. His name is unknown but his surname/farm name was Ringheim. He must have been born in the 1840´s or 50´s. jessicatx48	There are over 40 people listed on the U.S. Social Security Death Index (SSDI) with the name of Ringheim. They are listed in states ranging from New York to California. Try looking at this website: http://ssdi.genealogy.rootsweb.com/ It appears that these may be descendants, but who knows? At least the number of people with this name is a relatively short list, which may make it easier to trace back in time. Jessica

Stephanie Benoit	There was a Johannes Pedersen Ringheim emigrating here http://digitalarkivet.uib.no/cgi-win/webcens.exe?slag=visbase&filnamn=arkivverket/EMIBERG&brukar=&loc=0&spraak=e&postnr=16994&next=10 who would be the same age as the Johannes on the 1865 census. Could he be your relative? You may try to get a look at the Vossa Boki #1 by L. Kindem which has the Ringheim farms. It may tell where he went. AND/OR you can try posting on the Ringheim board http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec?htx=board&r=an&p=surnames.ringheim There is a woman looking for a John Ringheim (a likely name for him in US)http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/message/an/surnames.ringheim/1 which **might** connect.
